HISTORIC GRACE
Located within the Willowmoor Historic District, Clise Mansion is beautifully situated on acres of lush landscape in King County’s Marymoor Park near Redmond. James Clise, a Seattle banker, built the Clise Mansion in 1904 and it gradually expanded into the 28-room country house. It became a working showplace farm breeding Morgan horses and Scottish Ayrshire cattle. After the Clise was sold and changed hands several times, it was purchased by an investment firm for development. In 1959, King County saved the land for a public park. The mansion and the adjacent windmill are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
