This navy, magenta and cream Washington Ferry Wedding from photographer Carol Harrold took place on Seattle's historic Virginia V, once part of a large fleet of passenger and freight carrying ships linking the islands and ports of the Puget Sound. This lovely evening dance party wedding cruise made the most of our beautiful Seattle skyline.
From the Photographer -
"Sarah and Austin were an absolute joy to work with, and so appreciative to all who helped make their wedding day come together. I loved working on the Virgina V because the Captain was like an art director! He had lots of ideas for photos that incorporated the boat. For instance, he has the bride and groom pull the whistle when departing, and returning to the dock. He also suggested the group shot on the bow and gave the couple captain hats to wear. He knows just how long the boat trip is and makes sure the party moves along at a good pace. So in that way, he was like a wedding coordinator as well!"
From the Bride -
How They Met: "Fortunately for us, a good friend of ours, Shannon, decided to play matchmaker and invited us both over for dinner for a double date. As cliché as it sounds, we both felt immediately that this was really special - like love at first sight. Almost 8 years later, we've spent almost every dinner after that together. I couldn't feel more blessed to have him in my life."
On their engagment: "Austin proposed to me on our 6th anniversary at Snoqualmie Falls. It was a stunning PNW sunset - colorful and tree-lined and with the Falls in the background it really set the mood...and left us absolutely drenched from the spray! He told me how much he loved me and that I was his best friend and asked me to marry him right before taking a knee and producing my late mother's wedding ring. Obviously it was an enthusiastic and emotional yes!"
