Macram√© Wedding Details

Macramé Wedding Details is inspired by last weeks feature the Boho Bride Wedding Inspiration. While collected inspiration for that wedding theme we couldn't help but start thinking how the knotty craft and decor staple, macramé, has returned in a big way. One quick search of #macramé on Instagram or Pinterest and you'll find thousands of beautiful knotted creations made from craft cord, hemp, jute, and yarn.

So just what is macramé? Macramé is a form of textile-making using knots. Thanks to Vogue Magazine referring to macramé as "modern-chic" this popular craft technique exploded in home décor, jewelry, and clothing areas in American in the 1970's. However, macramé had been used as decor and decoration since ancient times.

From backdrops, table runners, dresses, bridal bouquets, and chair adornments, we have gathered up eight amazing macramé wedding details to give you inspiration on how to incorporate this amazing art work into your wedding!

Multicultural Seattle Wedding

Fuchsia and Honeysuckle Pink, Hyacinth Violet, Peridot Green, Persimmon Orange and Lemon Zest Yellow tropical flowers and elements of vintage decor harmonised with the modern wood and concrete interior design of Seattle's Within Sodo at this wedding. With nods to the couples multicultural background, decor and customs from Africa to Greece were embraced during this sunny summer wedding from New Creations Wedding Design & Coordination.  Lavish upon the images captured by Affinity Photography.

From the Wedding Planner, Rebecca Grant, New Creations Wedding Design & Coordination: Haroula and Dave’s multicultural wedding was a feast for the eyes!  On a perfect summer day in Seattle, they exchanged vows under a beautiful custom Edison bulb chandelier from Vintage Ambiance.  The bright, tropical colored flowers played perfectly against the dark, modern wood and concrete palette of Within Sodo.  Their long, family-style tables were stunningly set with chargers, napkins, favors and even vintage glass doorknob table number holders.  Nods to the bride growing up in Africa were abundant through the use of bright colors and tropical flowers.  Even the cake had hand-made sugar flower bougainvillea speaking to the abundance of the flower in Africa.  Haroula's Greek heritage was brought in during the dancing, and although we couldn't break the plates, napkins were thrown about instead.
