Fourth of July Patriotic Wedding Inspiration | B&E Lucky in Love Blog

Fourth of July Wedding Inspiration

Independence Day is nearing and we are loving this Fourth of July patriotic wedding inspiration board. Not too obvious that it's patriotic, but using reds, blues and whites make for a subtle homage to our country without being cheesy! Hope you all have a lovely holiday!

Patriotic Wedding Inspiration

We are still feeling inspired by the fireworks from last weekends festivities and decided to take that inspiration and create a cute little board based on the good ol' red, white and blue palette!

First, a little history, in 1782, the Congress of the Confederation chose red, white and blue for the Great Seal of the United States and listed their meaning as "white to mean purity and innocence, red for valor and hardiness, and blue for vigilance, perseverance, and justice."  For wedding color theory, red represents beauty and passion.  In Indian cultures, wedding dresses are often red, as the color meaning symbolizes purity.  White, considered the color of perfection, is associated with goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. This color is still the most traditional color worn by brides in the western world.  Blue, in all it's hues, convey a sense of trust, loyalty, and understanding.

Wondering how to incorporate these colors into your special day?  Here's the Lucky in Love Blog Top 5 suggestions:

  1. Signature Cocktails: Summer is a natural time to highlight these colors, as they occur in nature all around us, especially in fruit.  Add strawberries, raspberries, cherries, pomegranates, golden berries, white peaches, white nectarines, blueberries, and blueberries to champagne, sangria, or sparking water.
  2. Wedding Favors: Help your guests cool off by sending them home with Red, White and Blue Turbo Rocket Popsicles, or ice cold Coca~Cola glass bottles tied with blue ribbon, or baskets of fresh berries or bags of Red Delicious apples.
  3. Groomswear: Pair color-coordinating bow ties and suspenders with cool fabric suits made of linen or cotton.
  4. Tablescape: Accent a white tablecloth and napkins with chargers of red and tie up napkins in pretty ribbon of blue.
  5. Dessert Table: Again, why not utilize the bounty of the season and decorate your wedding cake with fresh fruit.  Or create a candy buffet featuring red licorice, Hot Tamales, peppermints, white butter creams, white rock candy, blue Sixlets, and blue Salt Water Taffy.
