Pantone Fall 2016

Pantone has released their Fall 2016 colors! We know, we haven't even started our inspiration boards series featuring Pantone's Spring colors yet, but Pantone releases it's colors early in the year and we want to keep you up with the latest color-trends to watch.  So keep watching the Lucky in Love Wedding Blog this Fall for our Wedding Color-Board Inspiration Series where we'll be featuring each of these beautiful colors individually and in the meantime, be inspired with our current series to run featuring their forecasted Spring colors.

Pantone Fall 2016 - Fall 2016 showcases a Unity of Strength, Confidence and Complexity

From Pantone: "The desire for tranquility, strength, and optimism have inspired a Fall 2016 color palette that is led by the Blue family.

Along with anchoring earth tones, exuberant pops of vibrant colors also appear throughout the collections. Transcending gender, these unexpectedly vivacious colors in our Fall 2016 palette act as playful but structured departures from your more typical fall shades.

Blue skies represent constancy as they are always above us. Grays give a feeling of stability, Red tones invite confidence and warmth, while the hot Pinkish Purples and Spicy Mustard Yellows suggest a touch of the exotic."

Watch the Lucky in Love Wedding Blog for our Wedding Color-Board Inspiration Series, where we'll be featuring each of these beautiful colors individually.

The top ten colors for Fall 2016 are:

  • PANTONE 17-4028 Riverside: Earmarking the importance of Blue in the palette, the new blue shade of Riverside undeniably takes precedence in the fall collections.
  • PANTONE 14-4122 Airy Blue: Airy Blue’s lofty blue nature evokes feelings of lightness and freedom; and is a nod to Serenity, Pantone's 2016 Color of the Year.
  • PANTONE 17-3914 Sharkskin: Edgy grey and yet it manages to remain neutral.
  • PANTONE 18-1550 Aurora Red: A bold Red that is warm, sensual and immediately pleasing to the eye that adds a welcome punch to this Fall pallette.
  • PANTONE 16-1318 Warm Taupe: A hearty, pleasing and approachable neutral that pairs well with each of the top 10 shades of the Fall 2016 season.
  • PANTONE 18-1630 Dusty Cedar: A fall and winter version of the Pinks, this dustier rose-toned Pink shade gives a nod to the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016, Rose Quartz.
  • PANTONE 18-5845 Lush Meadow: Brings to mind fresh botanicals and foliage.
  • PANTONE 14-0952 Spicy Mustard: An exotic addition, that adds another splash of uplifting vibrancy, this Yellow is spicier & zestier than previous seasons.
  • PANTONE 18-1340 Potter’s Clay: Elements of russet Orange in its undertones, gives a grounded feeling that’s anything but flat.
  • PANTONE 17-3240 Bodacious: Speaks to the gender fluidity we continue to see with its bright, rich Purple, with hints of a more sophisticated Pink.

Marsala: Pantone's 2015 Fall Wedding Color Inspiration

The fourth color in our Wedding Color Inspiration Series featuring Pantone's 2015 Fall Colors is also the 2015 Color of the Year – Marsala. This earthy, full-bodied, red-brown color beautifully can be the leading color in your wedding palette or the perfect accent color. The color also works magnificently against all skin tones making it a bridesmaid favorite.  It even pairs well in your catering plan – Marsala macaroons anyone?  Last, but hardly least, let’s not forget how this gorgeous color naturally occurs in a glass of bold red wine!

Chic Vintage Brides; Intimate Weddings; Royal Lace Bridal; Hey Wedding Lady; Mon Vanity Ideal; CFDA

"Interesting on its own and a wonderful contrast for other hues, PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala is a winey red-brown that adds finesse and savoir faire. Rich and robust, Marsala incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness." Pantone

4 fantastic tips for your tented wedding

If there's one thing you can count on in the Pacific Northwest, it's the you can't count on the weather.  Not only can rain vary from misting to downpour in the matter of minutes, as of late, you have the heat to think about too. The solution, besides an inside, AC venue? Tenting!  Not only does this take the worry off your outdoor wedding dreams being soaked, it provides fantastic decor opportunities.

Here are 4 fantastic tips for creating the perfect tented wedding:

  1. Size Matters
What is happening under the big top? Are you hosting a sit down dinner for 200? Will the dance floor be under the stars or surrounded by tables? Figuring out your guest count and how you want the space to function will dictate how large of a tent you will need.  On average, for a stand-up cocktail hour tented space you need around 6 feet per person.  For a dinner reception, with tables seating 6-8 people, you would need 81 square feet per table.  Add in a dance floor, and you'll need about 4 feet per person (keeping in mind that typically, only half of your guests will be shaking their groove thing at one time). Then add on average around 100 square feet per table for the cake and gift/guest book tables. DJ's typically need a couple hundred square feet for their set-ups and a 3 piece band around 100 square feet.
  2. Location! Location! Location!
As with real estate, location, is also an important factor to consider when looking where you set up your wedding tent.  Are there fragrant fields of lavender or snow-capped mountains to be viewed? A clear tent allows for the beautiful views to be seen from all angles. Or choose white tents with windows to allow all the beauty of your venue to be seen without having to worry about wind and pesky bugs. Will the tent be on grass or gravel? Has it been raining for weeks?  Think about adding a sub flooring such as parquet floors, so that heels save the grass from an unplanned aeration.  *Planner tip: Taylor'd Events Group reminds us to keep in mind the seasonal heat index of your wedding. Clear tents are stunning for offering 360 degree views but can magnify the heats reflection.  Think about using clear tenting during the cooler months and for evening weddings when the full starry sky can be savored.
  3. Power Up!
Make sure you have an adequate supply of power.  Nothing is more elegant than chandeliers, twinkle lights, or globe lights lighting up the dance floor and tenting is the perfect vehicle to display them.  An amber or warm-color light will create a soft glow against the white of a tents walls.  For a more festive look, use hue saturated lights of pink, blue or green and change the whole mood into disco dance party time. Also keep in mind having power for fans, to further keep guests cool, or heaters, for when the evening starts to cool down are lovely ways to show your guests their comfort is important to you.
  4. Set the Mood
Create an elegant wedding venue complete with fabric draping, side walls, doors, crystal chandeliers, and a black and white checkered dance floor.  Or keep it simple and leave the tent to protect your guests from the elements and let nature be your main decor.  Also, don't think you have to limit yourself to just one large main tent.  Create "mood rooms" by attaching smaller tents together to create such areas the Cigar Lounge (featuring hand-rolled cigars from San Juan Cigars) or a quite vintage lounge area (outfitting in Vintage Ambiances authentic period pieces from the late 1800's through the mid century) away from the DJ's bass and YMCAing enthusiasts. Tenting allows for endless decor possibilities from the grand to the minimalist.
