Real Wedding Sodo Park, Seattle | B&E Lucky in Love Blog

Living in Seattle, Shelly & Dave grew up loving the outdoors and all the wonders of the Evergreen State. They wanted to treat their family and friends to a unique Seattle wedding and decided it would be best to bring these wonders of the natural world into the rustic and open Sodo Park. With surreal floral arrangements, leafy greens hanging from the ceiling, and moss covered tables, they went all out on the decorations to bring the venue to life.

A little champagne was Shelly's choice for settling her nerves before seeing Dave for the first time, she even  had a little champagne bell to ring. As Dave waited to see his bride for the first time, he shared  the story of how they grew up 10 minutes apart, went to rival colleges, and eventually met through his twin sister on July 4th of 2012.

After the couple had seen each other for the first time, we set out to several locations around the town, including Pike Place and Kerry Park.   After returning to Sodo Park, Shelly was so happy to see her family who played a big part in helping create the special day. Both sides aided in the production of the photo booth wall made from hand, as well as formed an assembly line to finish the thank you gifts. This tightly knit family even went to dance classes to get ready for the special dances with their parents and each other - and we captured every wonderful moment with our photographs.

Shelly also shared a heartwarming story of how she was wearing her late grandmothers earrings as a tribute, because her grandmother had passed earlier in the year. I could see how her smile lit up as she reminisced. They even had their ring bearer carry the rings down the aisle on the same pillow she had made and used in her own wedding.
